That Post-Wedding Glow
Okay so we've been married for 16 days (legally for 9 days), but things are only just winding down. We still had people in town from overseas for a few days the Perth wedding, then Christmas, then our 3-day mini-honeymoon down south. We've only just said farewell to the last of the guests who flew into Perth for the wedding, and it's back to work this week.
I intend to post a lot over the next few days even after the wedding is over, mainly because, well, it's kinda awesome being married and I have lots of thoughts to document that I couldn't publish beforehand because of SPOILERS. But now I can.
But to start, let me just say very quickly that I highly, highly recommend getting married however you want to do it. We did it our way and we had an absolute blast. It helped that both ceremonies went off without a hitch (cloudburst Saturday afternoons notwithstanding), largely thanks to all of the very important and deeply appreciated people who helped make them that way.
I also highly, highly recommend getting married twice. Our ceremony in Singapore went off beautifully (more details later), and it felt super good knowing that we already had one successful and perfect wedding memory under our belt. That meant a lot of the pressure was off for the Perth wedding - not that it wasn't important that I wasn't going to make sure all our guests had a good time, but the neuroses of it practically vanished.
Now, full disclosure, I had a tantrum the night before the Perth wedding. But once that happened, that was it. There was basically no pressure at all in the week leading up or on the day of.
In the days to follow I'll try to post some recaps for those who weren't able to attend both (or either of) the ceremonies. I've also had lots of requests for reviews on the different suppliers we used, so I'm happy to post those, too.
And yes, photos are on the way. One of the downsides to getting married right before Christmas is that your photographer then goes on holiday, so they'll be a bit later than usual, but they're coming!
